2nd National Forum onClinical Integration and ACO FormationThursday, September 15 to Friday, September 16, 2011
Washington Hilton, Washington, DC
Clinical and financial integration – two critical components of Health Care Reform – are epitomized in the Accountable Care Organization (ACO) concept. The ACO model, as envisioned under the Medicare Shared Savings Program provisions of PPACA, is seen as a viable, economically sound, and efficient delivery system for Medicare. Many also believe that Shared Savings Program ACOs are the perfect testing ground for the proposed transition from a fee-for-service health care delivery system to a capitation based system favored under Health Care Reform. Private payors are also latching onto the ACO concept for non-Medicare populations through a bundled payment mechanism.
However, in view of the very strict provisions proffered by certain draft guidance documents and rules published by CMS, HHS OIG, FTC, DOJ and IRS, it remains to be seen if public and private payors will fully embrace the PPACA ACO model or migrate to other forms of clinically integrated delivery systems. The January 2012 Start Date for the Shared Savings Program leaves little room for indecision or contemplation. ACI’s 2nd National Forum on Clinical Integration and ACO Formation will help you navigate the legal and business complexities associated with the formation, structure and implementation of Accountable Care Organizations – both within and outside the parameters of the Shared Savings Program – and other integrated health care delivery models in this era of Health Care Reform. This conference will lead you step by step through the formation, governance, financing, and privacy issues associated with integrated health care delivery systems, including Medicare ACOs – from both the public and private payor vantage points. Our in-depth preconference workshop, entitled A Comprehensive Guide to the ACO Draft Guidance Documents from CMS, HHS OIG, FTC, DOJ and IRS will provide the most-up-to date information on various agency rules and guidances governing fraud and abuse, antitrust and tax concerns. Do not miss this unprecedented opportunity to hear from and discuss these guidance documents directly with present and former officials from CMS, HHS OIG, FTC, DOJ and IRS. Our Master Class on Building a Compliant HIT Infrastructure for ACOs and Other Clinically Integrated Entities: Legalities, Practicalities and Realties of Biomedical Informatics and Interoperability will help you decipher the mysteries of building a solid platform for your Health Information Technology infrastructure.
