Legal Director, Connected Devices
Interested in joining a dynamic legal team that supports Yahoo!’s cutting-edge Internet and Connected Devices businesses, like Mobile, Tablets and Connected TV? Yahoo!'s legal team is seeking an attorney with 5-7 years of relevant experience to support Yahoo!’s Connected Devices efforts. You will be responsible for supporting a wide-range of legal issues relating to Yahoo!’s Connected Devices initiatives including transactions, products, and advertising. You will negotiate and draft a range of complex deals. You will also develop US and global legal product, advertising, compliance, and market entry strategies and policies and serve as an advocate for these strategies and policies internally and externally. Additionally, you will work closely with others in the Yahoo! Legal department to address issues such as privacy, security, intellectual property, and litigation. You must cultivate and manage important business relationships with the relevant teams around the world, including senior executives and serve as the primary contact for several internal clients.

Minimum Job Skills and Qualifications:
• Relevant experience of at least 5-7 years at a respected law firm or an in-house environment advising and counseling companies on all areas of legal risk.
• Experience negotiating and drafting complex transactions and/or handling conflict resolution.
• Experience handling global Internet and Connected Devices product, advertising, legal, regulatory and policy matters, including experience with the relevant governmental agencies and trade associations.
• Outstanding communications skills, including written, verbal, and interpersonal skills so as to interface with and gain the respect of stakeholders and external third parties.
• Working knowledge of the Internet, telecommunications, mobile, and TV industries, structures, and operations. Ability to quickly assimilate operational processes, assess legal impact, and clearly communicate complex information.
• Outstanding skills to lead and participate in cross-functional teams and/or matrix-managed projects.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound business and legal decisions under tight deadlines.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects or project components with minimal supervision.
• Sound business insight, excellent analytical and problem-resolution skills.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and exceptional judgment.
• Current and active member of a state bar, preferably California.
• Some travel required.

Preferred Qualifications:
• International legal experience highly preferred.
• In-house legal experience highly preferred.
• Sense of humor.
• Ability and desire to think strategically and "outside the box".
