Overall Summary:
Responsible for facilitating DRS RSTA's business by leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of internal export / import controls to ensure compliance with U.S. government export / import regulations such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), U.S. Customs and Border Protection Regulations, Economic Embargo Regulations, and Importation of Arms, Ammunition and Implements of War Regulations.
Primary & Essential Accountabilities
• Responsible for facilitating DRS RSTA's business by leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of internal export / import controls to ensure compliance with U.S. government export / import regulations such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), U.S. Customs and Border Protection Regulations, Economic Embargo Regulations, and Importation of Arms, Ammunition and Implements of War Regulations.
• Communicates current and emerging export / import issues to senior management, the TSCO management and others as required / requested. Further, immediately addresses matters of significance to the company with the TSCO.
• Acts as the primary interface on interpretation of regulatory requirements or company trade policies and procedures for the RSTA business group.
• Interfaces with internal and external customers and the U.S. Government in trade compliance matters.
• Works with senior management and TSCO management to determine appropriate staffing and resources.
• Provides advice and guidance on the application and implementation of U.S. Government export / import regulations.
• Provides supervision and mentors the RSTA Trade Managers and Trade Specialists.
• Manages priorities and provides clear direction to the RSTA Trade Managers and Trade Specialists for the business group’s export / import activities.
• As necessary, coordinates with senior managers of various internal functions in obtaining U.S. Government export / import licenses, agreements, permits, certifications and technology release determinations.
• Develops and implements business processes, procedures and tools to ensure compliance with U.S. Government export / import regulations and Company policies.
• Manages the review and approval of export / import of goods and provides support in the movement of goods.
• Analyzes reports and metrics pertaining to various elements of the export / import process, and reports out on trends, areas of concern and improvement opportunities.
• Manages and maintains export / import files and records in accordance with U.S. Government regulations and Company policies.
• Identifies training needs and develops and provides training pertaining to export / import requirements.
• Monitors export / import compliance through self-assessments and audits across entire business group.
• At the direction of the VP, Trade & Security Compliance, leads investigations on trade compliance matters, develops corresponding corrective action plans and ensures timely completion.
• Participates in RSTA business and corporate projects focusing on trade compliance.
• Maintains awareness of all business group international activity, including marketing, trade shows, publishing of technical papers, business development, and procurement.
• Serves as a key contributor in new business opportunities/reviews, capture/proposal teams and strategic planning for business group.
• Identifies and addresses program gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Participates in establishing and implementing trade compliance policies and strategies for the overall Company. Also interprets, executes, and recommends modifications to company-wide trade compliance policies.
• Oversees and manages projects both inter-organizational and cross-functional to support business objectives.

Education / Experience
• 10+ years in trade and/or trade compliance related position
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Master’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience
• Ability to obtain DoD Collateral Secret Security Clearance required
