Meet Our Employees

One of the most interesting things about being a conference producer for American Conference Institute is that it enables you to meet and network with many of the country’s leading attorneys.  And not only do you meet senior attorneys from government, from industry and from leading law firms, but you also get to actually brainstorm with them.  Whether researching for a conference, or discussing their presentation if the person will be speaking at an event for ACI, you have the opportunity to have an in-depth discussion with senior-level experts about how to navigate emerging legal issues, and how to provide guidance to fellow professionals struggling to cope with their challenges in often high-stakes areas.  Some producers find their research to be the most interesting part of the job, and others find the actual live events to be very exciting, especially because many of the people that attend our events are quite accomplished and pose interesting questions to the speakers.  Personally, I would say that I most enjoy the part of the job where I invite distinguished people to participate as members of our speaking faculties.  It feels great when a well-known or very expert person accepts your speaking invitation, and it can make for a unique program.

-Conference Director

ACI’s goal to operate a first-class and responsive Delegate Sales is based on a belief in strong communication.  Good communication on a variety of levels makes a difference to all of our clients and colleagues. Leading the US-based Delegate Sales team, I’m constantly seeking to grow coordinators’ business development skills, foster a deeper level of active listening, and provide frequent access to our project partners, while treating each delegate as if they are just down the hall from us. I'm often asked what's best about ACI and my answer is simple; the talent, intelligence, wit and innovative thinking of my co-workers. The “clean whiteboard” mentality and our corresponding culture of openly challenging ourselves and the ways to produce events at ACI have fostered a quicker sense of creative initiative and a more enterprising streak of leadership.

-Delegate Sales Manager

What first attracted me to ACI was the promise that I could continue to pursue my interest in the law, but in a less formal, more relaxed environment than a law firm – and I have not been disappointed.  ACI is a collegial and professional place in which to work, and yet a lot more fun than the typical law firm.  And the opportunities that ACI provides for young attorneys go far beyond a less hectic workplace.  As a law firm associate, I focused on one specific area of the law and had very little exposure to other practice areas; at ACI, I have developed conferences covering a wide variety of legal disciplines, while also networking with judges, senior corporate counsel, high-level regulators, and partners at top law firms on an almost daily basis.  How many law firm associates can say that?

-Conference Producer

Since joining ACI in August 2007, I've had the opportunity to work on a variety of conferences expanding my knowledge across multiple industries.  I have also experienced firsthand the impact our conferences have on individuals, both personally and professionally, and the value we provide our customers.  I am constantly challenged, and offered the flexibility to think 'out of the box' which has helped me to evolve professionally, while also allowing the marketing department to meet current industry trends.  This can most recently been seen in our work in the social media arena.  ACI has allowed me the freedom and flexibility, and most importantly, the support to be successful.  I'm very happy to be part of such a dedicated team of professionals!

-Marketing Manager

As a general practice attorney who was looking to transition into new areas of law, ACI has provided me with extensive opportunities to learn about new practice areas that I had not previously been exposed to.  Having produced several conferences related to the life sciences industries, I have gained a deeper understanding of the industry and have been able to develop an expertise in regulatory, compliance and pricing issues facing life sciences manufacturers.

In addition to learning new areas of law, being an Industry Manager at ACI has also allowed me to work closely with government leaders, high level in-house executives and law firm partners that I otherwise would never have had a chance to interact with.  Having the opportunity to conduct research with industry insiders and working with speakers allows me to stay at the forefront of legal issues while pursuing an alternative legal career.

-Industry Manager, Pharmaceutical/Medical Device Practice Group

After graduating from Temple University, I wanted to start my career at a company that would help me develop valuable skills to become productive in the workforce and ACI has done that for me.   American Conference Institute has given me the tools to converse with top level executives at major companies with confidence in our company brand.

After nearly 2 years here, I have become an intricate piece to the future of the sales department and the success of the company.  My managers and colleagues are very supportive and look to me as a leader and show confidence in my ability to be a strong contributor monthly.

ACI has helped me manifest into a well rounded and efficient employee, ready to tackle any task at hand.

-Delegate Sales Executive

I have been with ACI for 4 years now. Never have I been in such a great working environment. Truly this is the place where I am able to grow in a career that is most satisfying. The level of support the managers offers us is tremendous. I can’t name any other company that gave me the freedom to work and help to improve myself in this fast pace city we live in. Everyone goes thru rough patches in their career. However, my manager never gave up on me and was there to see that I get the attention I needed to succeed.

During my time with ACI, I have moved up the ranks from a Delegates Coordinator to Delegate Sales Team Leader. This company recognized my potential and acted accordingly to maximize my growth within the firm. ACI feels like a big family to me. When you’re with family, you’re home and that makes for the perfect working environment that you can’t get anywhere else.

I look forward to many more years with ACI. This company is looking to reach an even higher level…. I plan on being there when that happens.

-Delegate Coordinator

Being a part of American Conference Institute over the past five years has probably been the most rewarding professional experience of my career!  It is a pleasure to work in an environment where the employees are encouraged to utilize their professional knowledge and background while given the opportunity to learn and grow.  Since the day I started here at ACI, I was given the freedom and flexibility to put my ideas in motion and take them as far as I could – and when they paid off, my hard work was acknowledged and appreciated. I’m proud of my personal accomplishments over the past few years, but also with my teammates and the consistently high quality of our events - the emphasis on teamwork at ACI is unparalleled, and the atmosphere is warm and supportive.

-Marketing Group Manager

After graduating from King’s College in London with a Master’s degree in International Peace and Security and traveling extensively, I knew I wanted a career in international law and research that encouraged original thinking and offered the opportunity to travel. That was the appeal of ACI. I joined ACI’s Marketing Department in October 2006 and was immediately given the autonomy to define the position of Marketing Executive, a new role within the company created to forge partnerships with associations, trade publications and other media outlets, and implement innovative marketing initiatives such as ACI’s Alumni Program. With ACI’s encouragement and support, however, I quickly transitioned from marketing to production where I now develop legal conferences on compliance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”), economic sanctions, U.S. export and trade controls, and Customs/import requirements.

At ACI there are no boundaries. So far I’ve produced international events in London, Frankfurt, Mumbai, Dubai, and Moscow. I have traveled extensively both in the U.S. and internationally, and through my events have had the opportunity to work with senior U.S. and foreign government officials, industry leaders, top law firms and nonprofit associations to deliver cutting edge business intelligence on international trade compliance and combat corruption worldwide by way of our anti-corruption compliance events.

ACI encourages original and independent work, while providing you with the tools, resources, and guidance to create new products. Taking up an assignment in a new market is always exciting and rewarding. If you are a pioneer in your field, adventurous and willing to think outside the box, this is a great career.

-Research Analyst & Program Director

ACI’s greatest asset is its people. From Coordination to Sponsorship to Marketing, my colleagues assure me everyday that being the best is an achievable goal by reaching it themselves. I feel a great amount of support from my fellow coordinators as well as the entire ACI team. ACI provides a work environment that not only recognizes but also rewards hard work. The work experience I’ve received in my time at ACI is invaluable. I have had the ability to converse with the best and brightest of the pharmaceutical industry, insurance companies, foreign trade as well as government officials from around the world. I am confident that the lessons I’ve learned at ACI will help me in all my future endeavors.

-Conference Coordinator

Working at ACI for the past three years has allowed me to maintain a great work/life balance. As an attorney and mother of young children, I enjoy working at ACI as the company fosters (and strongly encourages) a legal work environment that offers all of the benefits of working at a law firm, without the long hours or stress of managing clients. As a Legal Conference Producer I am encouraged to develop industry relationships with senior-level in-house counsel and business executives, private practice attorneys, judges and high-level government officials, who I know I would not have had access to if working at a law firm right now.  The industry connections I have made are invaluable and I have been given the flexibility to develop legal conferences in an area of the law that I enjoy.
