Managing Director Chief Anti-Bribery & Corruption Officer
Chinwe Esimai is the Chief Anti-Bribery & Corruption (AB&C) Officer at Citigroup Inc. Ms. Esimai oversees Citi’s risk management framework for compliance with anti-bribery and corruption regimes, including the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), the U.K. Bribery Act, as well as the applicable local anti-bribery and corruption laws of all 100+ countries in which Citi operates. The Global AB&C Program develops processes across all business lines and jurisdictions in connection with the implementation of AB&C controls. Ms. Esimai joined Citi in December 2012 from Goldman, Sachs & Co. (GSCO) where she was VP & Anti-Bribery Compliance Officer. In that role, she advised GSCO’s business lines on anti-bribery compliance. She was previously VP in the Regulatory Audits & Inquiries Group at GSCO. She served as Assistant Professor of Law at the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis, MN, where she taught Law & Finance in Emerging Markets, Securities Regulation, and Business Associations. Following graduation, she practiced as a corporate associate at LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae, LLP. Ms. Esimai obtained her B.A. in Political Science, summa cum laude, from the City College of New York, and her J.D. from Harvard Law School.
