DAVID WINTERS is Partner at Butler Rubin Saltarelli & Boyd LLP and concentrates his practice complex business litigation. He has had significant litigation experience, as both lead counsel and second chair, representing clients in disputes before arbitration panels, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and state and federal trial courts. David has handled disputes involving managed care health benefit plans, ERISA issues, the reinsurance of variable annuities, allegations of fraud in the reporting of workers compensation premium, alleged non-disclosures in placing a retrocessional property catastrophe program, and losses and loss adjustment expense arising out of surety business produced by a general agent. In 2016, David received the CIPP/US designation from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), indicating that he is a Certified Information Privacy Professional for the U.S. private-sector. CIPP certification is the global standard for privacy laws and regulation. He is a frequent speaker on issues relating to data security and privacy law. David is a 2002 graduate of Northwestern University School of Law, where he served as Associate Editor of the Northwestern University Law Review. As part of the Law Bulletin Publishing Group’s 2016 survey of the top lawyers in the state, David was designated a "Leading Lawyer" in Illinois in Insurance, Insurance Coverage and Reinsurance Law.
