RYAN H. VANN is partner at Baker & McKenzie LLP. Ryan has experience in a full array of employment law issues, including both counseling and litigation. He has represented clients in class and single-plaintiff litigation under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, FLSA, WARN Act, FMLA, ERISA, and the Illinois Human Rights Act, as well as joint employer liability under many of those statutes. Additionally, Mr. Vann regularly litigates and counsels clients in the areas of independent contractor and exempt status misclassification, including large and small-scale audits. Mr. Vann also counsels clients on various day-to-day employment law matters and assists clients with executive employment agreements, separation and severance arrangements, restrictive covenants and employee-related policies. Mr. Vann also actively advises clients in the field of labor relations law. Within this area, he has represented clients in unfair labor practice proceedings, contractual arbitrations, collective bargaining agreement negotiations, representation proceedings, and other litigation. He also has experience advising clients during union organizing campaigns. In addition, he provides clients with day-to-day labor relations advice on a wide spectrum of topics, including advice on mergers and acquisitions with underlying labor and employment issues.
