GARY BOWERS is a Partner at Johnson Lambert LLP. Gary is the Tax Partner-in-Charge for the multi-office CPA firm of Johnson Lambert LLP.  Gary has served the financial services, not-for-profit and employee benefit industries for the majority of his 32-year career and has worked exclusively with his clients in helping them to plan their tax strategies. Gary has extensive experience in dealing with corporate tax planning issues, corporate tax compliance, reorganizations and negotiations with the Internal Revenue Service to resolve issues. He also has had experience in dealing with the national office of the Internal Revenue Service related to private letter rulings and change in accounting method requests.  He has also helped clients with their UBIT issues, Proxy tax, Supporting Organizations and Exempt status. Gary believes in a proactive approach to taxation matters through a complete understanding of your business and its objective. He regularly speaks on taxation matters for IASA, CICA, SCCIA and VCIA. He has also authored several articles for the National Underwriter, Captive Review 2004 and for CICA. After earning his B.B.A. degree at the University of Georgia, Gary attended Georgia State University where he earned the equivalent of a Masters in Taxation. He is a CPA.
