HUHNSIK CHUNG is a partner in Baker McKenzie’s North America Banking, Finance and Major Projects Practice Group in New York. He has more than 25 years of experience in handling sensitive, complex, high-value contentious and non-contentious matters for the insurance industry. He has served as lead counsel in more than 70 insurance, reinsurance and commercial proceedings in the US and abroad, and is regularly called as New York counsel in Bermuda form arbitrations. He also provides insurance regulatory and structuring advice related to M&A, ILS, credit enhancement and new product development. He also advised on compliance, policy wording, and regulatory matters involving various business lines and products. Mr. Chung is a Fellow of Litigation Counsel of America and was recognized as a New York Super Lawyer in Super Lawyers Corporate Counsel Edition. Prior to joining the Firm, he managed two New York offices of an AMLaw 50 firm. Mr. Chung focuses on insurance and reinsurance advisory and litigation. His insurance practice includes matters related to oil and energy for industry with an emphasis on oil and gas companies and nuclear and electric utilities insured through industry mutual and captives. He has advised on matters related to major disasters and catastrophic property losses, technology and media, privacy and cyber security, financial institutions, various toxic torts and environmental contamination, products and medical devices, professional services and aviation. He also assists South Korean clients globally on all types of matters ranging from intellectual property management to public listings.
