SHANNON SMITH joined the Washington Attorney General’s Office in 1989. Attorney General Rob McKenna appointed Shannon Smith as Chief of the Consumer Protection Division in May 2012. Prior to her appointment as Division Chief, Ms. Smith served as the Section Chief for Litigation and managed the Division’s consumer protection litigation. Ms. Smith focuses on privacy, data security, identity theft, charities fraud, telecommunications, and general consumer protection issues. Before joining the Consumer Protection Division, Ms. Smith spent 10 years representing the Washington Utilities and Transportation where she specialized in telecommunications and energy regulation.
