JOHN ANSBACH serves as General Counsel of General Datatech, L.P. (“GDT”), a global technology solutions provider that supports commercial enterprises with cloud, unified communication, managed services, IoT and networking, storage and compute solutions. In that capacity, John is responsible for all of the legal affairs of the company, which include information security; international compliance; commercial contracting; internal audit; risk management; litigation; and, the protection of the organization’s intellectual property. John also leads the government relations efforts of GDT, and as such helps the company to monitor and impact legislative developments in Texas and across the Country pertaining to technology, intellectual property protection, tax treatment and other matters. In addition to his work at GDT and when time permits, John speaks for organizations across the United States and Canada. His audiences have included Toyota, Frito Lay, Hewlett Packard, PepsiCo and others. He talks on topics related to technology, cybersecurity, the Internet of Things, and the Cloud, as well as on diversity and leadership. John has also authored articles for Law Technology News; the Association of Corporate Counsel; the American Law Institute; the Texas Lawyer; and, The Texas Lawbook. In addition to his speaking and contributions to publications, John also publishes regularly to his own blog (ansbachblog.com), focused on matters relating to cybersecurity, technology and the Internet of Things. John is a cum laude graduate of Texas A&M University where he earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Economics. He earned his law degree from The University of Texas School of Law in Austin.
