DEREK HO is a partner at Kellogg, Hansen, Todd, Figel & Frederick, P.L.L.C. in Washington, DC. He specializes in appellate and complex commercial litigation, with a particular focus on class actions and MDL proceedings. He was involved in three of the U.S. Supreme Court’s most significant recent class action decisions, Tyson Foods v. Bouaphakeo, American Express v. Italian Colors, and Amgen v. Connecticut Retirement Plans, and prevailed in all three. In addition to his appellate work, Mr. Ho represents both plaintiffs and defendants in class action cases in district court across the country. Mr. Ho graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College and Harvard Law School. Before joining Kellogg Hansen, he clerked for Chief Judge Michael Boudin of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and Associate Justice David H. Souter of the U.S. Supreme Court. He speaks widely on class action issues, including at Georgetown University Law Center, where he is a frequent guest lecturer.
