DIEGO MARQUEZ joined the General Electric Company as Sanctions Counsel in April 2015. In this role, he advises GE businesses on issues related to sanctioned countries. Prior to joining GE, he was a Senior Associate with Alston & Bird LLP in the firm’s Washington, DC office. He advised clients on a wide range of legislative, public policy and regulatory matters, specializing on issues pertaining to export controls, sanctions, federal elections and government ethics. He also maintained an active pro bono practice, focusing on asylum work and other immigration law matters. Diego received his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2007, and he graduated from Davidson College in 2003 with a B.A. in political science and a minor in mathematics
