THE HONORABLE RICHARD W. STORY has served as a Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia since February‚ 1998. He previously served as a Judge of Superior Court for Georgia's Northeastern Judicial Circuit from 1986-1998 and was the circuit's Chief Judge from 1993-1998. He graduated from LaGrange College in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1978. Following law school‚ he was a partner in the Gainesville law firm of Hulsey‚ Oliver and Mahar. He also served as a Special Assistant Attorney General representing the State of Georgia in child support and custody cases. From 1985-1986‚ he served as Juvenile Court Judge of Hall County. During his service as a Superior Court Judge‚ Judge Story served as the Administrative Judge for the Ninth Judicial District of Georgia from 1996-1998. He also served on the Judicial Council of Georgia and the Georgia Courts Automation Commission. Judge Story has been active in a number of community and civic activities in Gainesville. He presently serves on the Board of Trustees of LaGrange College and as President of the Joseph Henry Lumpkin Inn of Court. Judge Story is married and has three children and one grandchild.
