CARLOS LAZATIN is a partner at O'Melveny & Myers LLP in Los Angeles.  Mr. Lazatin focuses on consumer product litigation, and has extensive experience defending companies in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and automotive industries against consumer fraud and false advertising class actions, including numerous cases brought under California's Unfair Competition Law, Consumers Legal Remedies Act, and False Advertising Law.  He represented a major food company in a class action involving claims that the labeling of its fruit-flavored cereal was misleading; a prominent consumer products company in false advertising lawsuits over America's number one brand of no-calorie sweeteners; and a beverage company against class actions alleging that the company had failed to disclose the alcohol content of its fermented teas and that the company’s advertising was misleading because the available scientific evidence supposedly did not support the company’s claims that the drinks are healthful.  Mr. Lazatin graduated, cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 2003, and earned his A.B. degree, magna cum laude, from Princeton University in 1999.
