BRIDGET M. GILLESPIE is a shareholder at Picadio Sneath Miller & Norton, P.C. in Pittsburgh, PA. Her current practice is concentrated in representation of, and advising, insurance carriers in insurance coverage and bad faith matters and representation of clients in commercial and tort litigation. She is co-author of Norton on Insurance Coverage in Pennsylvania, Second Edition, published by PBI Press and is principal author of revisions for the Third Edition published by PBI Press in November 2014. She is Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Civil Litigation Section, past editor of the PBA Civil Litigation Update newsletter and a current delegate for Zone 12 of the PBA House of Delegates. She also is a past chair and founding member of the Allegheny County Bar Association’s Military and Veterans’ Affairs Committee. She has spoken to various groups on topics related to insurance, veterans, and civil practice and procedure. Ms. Gillespie received her J.D. degree, cum laude, in 1993 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she was a managing editor of the Law Review; and is an alumna of the University of Notre Dame where she obtained a B.A. in Government and International Relations. After clerking for Pennsylvania Superior Court Judge Peter Paul Olszewski and Court of Common Pleas of Carbon County Judge Richard W. Webb, she joined the Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps and also served as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Northern District of New York during her service at Fort Drum, New York. Ms. Gillespie joined Picadio Sneath Miller & Norton, P.C. in 1999 after being honorably discharged from active duty. She is licensed in Pennsylvania and is admitted to practice in all Pennsylvania state courts, the District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and the Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
