WILLIAM H. PAYNE IV is an Associate in the New Orleans, Louisiana, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. His practice is focused on representing employers in all aspects of workplace law with a focus of employee benefits litigation. Mr. Payne has argued in front of the Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, served as a law clerk for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, and tried employment discrimination cases in state and federal court. In law school, Mr. Payne served as an articles editor on the Tennessee Law Review and conducted an independent study of how laws governing interest rates affect microfinance ventures in developing nations. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Payne worked as a newspaper reporter and a high school English teacher. Bill enjoys education related volunteer opportunities and long distance running.
