Matthew Cannon is Shareholder at Greenberg Traurig LLP. Matt has handled corruption cases, including FCPA cases, for almost two decades as both a federal prosecutor and as defense counsel for companies and individuals. Matt has handled DOJ and SEC investigations and has also conducted numerous internal investigations for companies, including FCPA investigations. He has also represented Fortune 500 companies in connection with the assessment and implementation of FCPA programs worldwide. During his time as a federal prosecutor, Matt supervised numerous public corruption cases and also served as the Lead Prosecutor for the LOGCAP Working Group. The LOGCAP Working Group prosecuted and investigated international corruption matters spanning numerous countries around the world addressing matters involving bribes, kickbacks, fraud, and the False Claims Act in relation to $40 billion of U.S. Army logistics contracts awarded in support of the military conflicts in Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan. Matt was also one of the prosecutors who worked on the recent FCPA case involving a subsidiary of ADM, wherein the total amount of criminal and regulatory penalties paid exceeded $54 million. Matt’s current practice at GT focuses on FCPA matters and False Claims Act cases.
