ACI’s Virtual Pre-Forum Masterclass Series: Trade Control Fundamentals for AI & Advanced Technology Transactions provides a practical foundation in the trade control issues shaping AI and advanced technology business decisions.

Across three virtual masterclasses, participants will explore U.S. encryption export controls, cloud and remote-access controls, cross-border compute risk, outbound investment restrictions, and the trade control implications of advanced technology transactions. Designed for both experienced professionals and newer practitioners, the series translates complex legal, technical, and operational issues into practical decision-making frameworks.

Each masterclass combines prerecorded instruction, expert-developed resources, faculty engagement, and a live, unrecorded Q&A conducted under Chatham House Rule.

Attendees will gain practical tools to assess technology-transfer risk, evaluate cloud and AI compute arrangements, classify products and services, and advise on investments, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic collaborations involving AI, semiconductors, quantum technologies, cloud infrastructure, software, encryption, and other advanced technologies.

The series also establishes a common foundation for the deeper discussions that follow at the Forum, helping participants engage more effectively on topics such as AI compute, digital services, customer diligence, investment controls, enforcement readiness, and compliance governance.
