On September 25, 2013, Governor Jerry Brown signed into law a bill (AB 10) that will raise California’s minimum wage to $10 per hour by January 1, 2016. The legislation will gradually raise the current minimum wage rate of $8 per hour to $9 per hour on July 1, 2014, and to $10 per hour on January 1, 2016. Infosys Makes $35 Million Provision to Settle Visa Case in U.S. by Kartikay Mehrotra Posted on Bloomberg.com

Infosys Ltd. (INFO)India’s second-largest software exporter, reserved $35 million for a potential settlement tied to a U.S. probe into the company’s use of visas. The company is “engaged in discussions” to reach a civil resolution with the U.S. Attorney’s office which is investigating compliance with visa laws, Bangalore-based Infosys said in an e-mailed statement.
